About 59% of adults in the coverage gap are people of color, according to KFF analysis. Nearly two-thirds live in a household with at least one worker. The states that have not expandedMedicaid are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming. About three-quarters of those in the coverage gap live in four states: Texas (35%), Florida (19%), Georgia (12%) and North Carolina (10%).
