Personal liability coverage and medical payments coverage are also provided by this policy. Coverage of the dwelling, related structures, and scheduled personal property is on an all risks basis, while coverage of unscheduled personal property is on a broad named perils basis.
The Homeowners Broad Form (Form 2) covers the dwelling, other structures(such as a detached garage or shed), personal property, personal liability, and medical payments. The Broad Form policy covers perilsspecifically named in the policy. In a Broad Form policy if the perilis not named, it is not covered.
Medical payments coverage is the part of a home insurance policy that covers you if a guest is injured at your home whether you're to blame or not. Medical payments coverage is meant for small claims.
HO-3 is an open-peril policy, as opposed to a named-peril policy like HO-1 and HO-2. That means unless the insurer excludes a peril from the policy, then the policy covers any kind of peril, named or not. Typically, an HO-3 policy will cover the home’s structure, as well as any structures that are attached, like a carport or garage.
