1. Overweight and Obesity. Eating a healthy diet, along with getting enough physical activity and sleep, can help children grow up healthy and prevent overweight and obesity.
2. Heart Disease and Stroke. Two of the leading causes of heart disease and stroke are high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol. Consuming too much sodium can increase blood pressure and the risk for heart disease and stroke.
3. Type 2 Diabetes. People who are overweight or have obesity are at increased risk of type 2 diabetes compared to those at a normal weight because, over time, their bodies become less able to use the insulin they make.
4. Cancer. An unhealthy diet can increase the risk of some cancers. Overweight and obesity are associated with at least 13 types of cancer, including endometrial (uterine) cancer, breast cancer in postmenopausal women, and colorectal cancer.
5. Deficits in Brain Function. The brain develops most quickly in the first 1,000 days of life, from the start of pregnancy to the child’s second birthday.

10 harmful effects of unhealthy and bad eating habits

Just Now

Estimated Reading Time: 7 mins
1. Diabetes. As we ingest more and more amounts of sugars and simple carbohydrates (such as candy, fruit juice, white bread, white flour, soda, etc.) , those high levels can develop Type 2 Diabetes.
2. Obesity. It goes without saying that eating unhealthy foods leads to weight gain. Left untreated, this gained weight turns to obesity – due to our inability to get rid of the accumulated fat gained from bad diets.
3. Can Cause Depression. We’ve talked quite a bit about the “vicious cycle” of eating bad foods. For example: you feel bad about overeating junk, and stress yourself out over it – psychologically causing you to crave more bad food.
4. Poor Brain Function. Healthy fats, antioxidants and complex carbohydrates all play their part in producing glucose, which our brain needs. (Not a lot, mind you, but glucose is still essential for our brains to function for prime/optimal performance.
5. Drops Energy Levels. Foods with little to no nutritional content (which is essential for our body to function healthily) often plummet our energy levels.
6. Kills Appetite Control. After eating fried and processed foods, how many times were you hungry shortly after? It’s incredibly easy to eat even more of these foods – in an attempt to sate our hunger.
7. Weight Gain. Our blood sugar is managed by insulin. Simple carbs and trans fat in processed foods spikes insulin levels. When this happens, a condition called insulin resistance is formed.
8. Health Diseases. Unhealthy eating habits can potentially cause two major health diseases: osteocalcin and malignant malnutrition. The former—often linked with a lack of vitamin D (found in a lot of healthy foods)—causes sufferers’ bones to deteriorate.
9. Mood Problems. Serotonin and dopamine are two hormones our brains need to function adequately. People without sufficient serotonin or dopamine production often develop depression and tend to feel sad more often.
10. Slows Learning. Junk/unhealthy food ruins memory, according to Professor Margaret Morris. In 2011, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition conducted a study: functioning, healthy people ate junk food for only five days, and were then subjected them to cognitive tests.

Effects Of Unhealthy Eating Habits Love Thy Life

12.29.2356 hours ago

1. There is a strong association between our dietary habits and the risk of depression and anxiety. The high caloric contents of the modern diet are a major promoter of malfunction of the cardiovascular and nervous systems. Unhealthy diets weaken the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life, which is called neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity allows the neurons (nerve cells) in the brain to counteract injury and disease and to adjust to new situations or changes in the environment. Most of the modern diets are rich in sugar. Diabetes has become a very common disease now, which is a gift of modern lifestyle. Diabetes reduces the capacity of the body to produce insulin, which has a major contribution to simplifying the sugar molecules. Synaptic plasticity is a fundamental property of the nervous system and is widely considered a primary mechanism for learning and memory. Insulin is important for the control of synaptic plasticity and cognitive f...

20 Health Complications That are a Sign of a Bad Diet

1. Author: April Benshosan
Published: Dec 13, 2020
2. Osteoporosis. "Osteoporosis occurs because the bones become brittle and weak and are at higher risk of breaking. There are a few different risk factors that can cause osteoporosis.
3. Eating Disorders. "A diet-gone-wrong can trigger symptoms of an eating disorder. Severe food restriction can trigger obsessive thoughts and behaviors leading to an increased desire for thinness, resulting in anorexia.
4. Chronic Constipation. "Constipation may not sound like a serious health complication, but chronic constipation affects many people and can be quite uncomfortable and affect quality of life.
5. Obesity. "It is imperative for the body to have the right balance of macronutrients (protein, fat, and carbohydrates) as well as micronutrients and electrolytes for their individual metabolic needs.
6. Dark, Pungent Urine. If you're experiencing "thirst, less frequent urination, more concentrated urine (darker color, stronger smell)," you may need more fluids, asserts Kerkenbush.
7. Increased Breast Cancer Risk. "The vast majority of chronic diseases that afflict Americans—cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and many types of cancer—are the result of decades' worth of poor diet and insufficient exercise.
8. GERD. "Certain foods can weaken the 'doorway' between the esophagus and stomach, thus making reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus more likely. These foods are chocolate, caffeine, mint.
9. Increased Risk of Heart Disease. "A poor diet high in sugar and saturated fat is consistently linked to plaques in the arteries that lead to heart attack, stroke, abnormal blood lipids or atherosclerosis," Upton tells us.
10. Diabetes. "All foods are eventually converted to sugar (the body's energy source), except pure protein which is used in a different way. Thus, too much intake of any food can make diabetes worse.
11. Depression. "I think it's important to talk about a diet rich in healthy fats, omega-3 fatty acids, particularly. When we are lacking in omega-3s and other nutrients like magnesium, we tend to see an increase in depressive moods, mood swings, and general gloominess.
